Communication Technology, and essentially is referred to as the umbrella term
that includes communication technologies such as: mobile phones, computers, TV,

ICT
at home
Use of ICT at home has become increasingly
popular for younger generations, through the greater network connections that
are available at the fingertips through small devices such as mobile phones,
tablets and iPads. Although these devices prove to be quite beneficial, it is
important to be aware of the potential issues that these devices bring with
them as well.
ICT
at school
At school, ICT has proven its worth,
with increased numbers of computers, data projectors and even educational apps
being present in almost every classroom. As a result of the digital age that we
are currently in, the Australian Curriculum has recognised ICT as a general
capability. This means that teachers of all disciplines, not just ICT teachers,
are required to educate students about a variety of aspects regarding the use
of ICT at school.
This blog will specifically be focusing on
the applying social and ethical protocols
and practices when using ICT component of the ICT general capability for
years 8-10. This component focuses on developing students so that they are able
to: recognise intellectual property,
apply digital information security practices, apply personal security
protocols, identify the impacts of ICT in society.

With your help at home, your children will
increase their knowledge about and be able to demonstrate safe and ethical
